Shall we support Obama?

There is no doubt; Barack Obama is flirting with us like an out-of-control teenager; his latest actions reveal his desperation about captivating the Hispanic vote.

He knows that we are a voting machine. In fact, some 50,000 young Americans of Hispanic origin turn 18 every month, and that cannot be ignored.

But before again giving him upwards of 67 percent of the vote – which is what the Hispanic support amounted to in November 2008  – the largest ethnic minority in the country should remember his unkept promise, which he specifically stated four years ago to journalist Jorge Ramos when he stated that during his first year in office he would push for immigration reform.

But he lied to us like Pinocchio, hiding behind a sea of excuses: the bailout to the health system was a priority, the war against terrorism, Michelle’s botanical garden, and much more nonsense.

Obama’s delay on immigration reform (not only Deferred Action) is brain myopia, a foolish act, an idiotic move. The perfect time which the President seeks will never come. History is full of inopportune moments.

Recall President Ronald Reagan criticizing the horrendous German communist wall; that was not the perfect moment.

When Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his immortal speech, “I have a dream,” it was not the ideal moment.

And when Rosa Parks sat in the front seat of a bus, that also was not the best time.

So, shall we support Barack ... should we let him keep lying to us?
